Opening on May 15, the new Rebecca Horn show in Moscow features the composition of Hayden’s “Irrlichter”. Hayden will also give a performance at the opening and a lecture on May 16. At the Elbjazz Fest in Hamburg Hayden will play 3 times: as a soloist with the Hochschule Big Band, in duo with the singer Eda Zari, and solo accompanying the films of Len Lye. The program of the Plushmusic Festival in the Bremen Sendesaal in June curated by Hayden is now online here. On the night of June 15 Hayden will give an all-night performance with Pina Ruecker at Schloss Goseck. On June 28/ will again perform at the legendary Landmaschinen Symphonie in Stelzen and on June 29 he will perform the original scores of the classic “Charlie Parker with Strings” with musicians from the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Gareth Lubbe- tickets for the performance “East of the Sun, West of the Moon” are available here.  Aside from these performances Hayden will be in the Nelepa Str. studios in Berlin recording new trio albums with Matt Penman and Jochen Rueckert, as well as Simon Nabatov and Jonas Burgwinkel. Hayden has been awarded with the 2013 SWR Jazz Prize, one of Germany’s most prestigious music awards. The awards ceremony along side a double concert of Hayden’s will take place in October. In April, Hayden’s Love in Numbers will be performed in Thessaloniki and Athens and concerts with Lula Pena are planned in Germany to present the duo’s CD. Early May Hayden will be performing and lecturing along side the comprehensive Rebecca Horn exhibition in Moscow. He then tours with the new band of Dejan Terzic “Melanoia” to present the new CD out on Enya in May. Hayden’s Plushmusic festival in Sendesaal Bremen takes place on June 12/13.

In other exciting news, Hayden has been selected to compose music for a new underground metro station in Naples scheduled to open in March 2014. In January Hayden tours with Dejan Terzic’s new band. Love in Numbers is planned to be performed in Dublin in February.

On Octcober 20 Hayden plays Luzern Jazz Orchestra as well as premiering with the St. Hammond Brothers in Stadtgarten, Cologne. In November he tours with Root70 and on Nov. 19 there will be a huge release party in Stadtgarten with many surprises! Hayden has been selected to compose the music for the new underground train system in Naples and will be working there from 2013. The Sound of Heimat documentry film is still running in German cinemas and will soon head to international festivals. Watch this space for some important release news next month!

At the end of July Hayden performs with Senegalese singer Abdou Guite Seck. In August he performs and records for a week in Basel, closes the prestigiuos Brühler Schloss Konzert series with the program “Hayden plays Haydn”, then teaches his annual masterclass in Greece. In September the “Sound of Heimat” cinema film premieres in Germany, Hayden records a new program with Root70, and creates the music for a special week of events in Maribor, European cultural capital 2012. This November Hayden will be curating a Plushmusic Festival at the superb Sendesaal Bremen.

The film has since featured at the Tel Aviv festival and will continue to journey around the world. In April Hayden returns to New Zealand and will be teaching in Wellington and performing- watch the live section for details. In May Hayden will tour with a new project by Xu Fengxia and present their first duo CD early June at the Moontower foundation.

Hayden is now composing a new work to be premiered in New Dehli in March together with the IFA Horn Exhibition. The new CD “Love in Numbers” is available from the mailorder section of the website. We are also delighted to report that after all these years, Hayden will perform Haydn as part of the Summer Bruehler Schloss Konzerte series. In February Hayden performs with Dejan Terzic’s “Underground” in Basel and records in duo with John Hollenbeck.

This November Hayden will perform for the first time in Albania for a large benefit concert. The new Moontower Foundation music edition will have it’s first release in December with Hayden’s long awaited “Love in Numbers”. In his own words, it’s “by a long shot the most important work I’ve created”. 7 CD and LP releases are already planned for 2012 and the website will also be opened around the time of the first CD release in Berlin on December 16. The second major release concert  will be in the Bremen Radio Hall in February.  The second major CD release on the label will be Hayden’s duo with Fengxia Xu followed by his electric and acoustic trios featuring Jochen Rueckert, Jonas Burgwinkel, and Simon Nabatov, all recorded in 2011. The film Moon Mirror Journey with Hayden’s score continues to tour the world with screenings planned in Toronto and London soon.
